Mack 10 recently contributed to Icecubes single "You Can Do It" from the "Next Friday" soundtrack, and the "WWF RAW Compilation" LP, and is also currently working on new material for his 4th LP.
In 1995, Mack 10 got signed by Ice Cube and dropped his self- titled joint, "Mack 10." With a hardcore image of a G from LA, and creative lyrics that separated him from most gangsta rappers, this album put Mack on the map.
Mack 10 tells the people who criticize gangsta rap that "If your shit do a million every time you drop it, then you would be foolish to change the topic." He then goes on to say "To whom it may concern, this letter is to show that real niggaz only rap about what they know."
Mack 10 (1490 words)
Mack 10 teams up once again with his label-mate and long time friend, Ice Cube, to put together "The Guppies." The song touches upon the "new jack" status of wannabe paper-chasers that can't compete with seasoned rhyme stylists, like Mack and Cube.
To that end, Mack 10's Based On A True Story, just his second album, is expressing not only his personal growth as an individual but also his expanded talent as a rapper.
Mack 10 has lived his life in the fast-lane without much fanfare, but while most artists are struggling to derive a steady income from this genre of music, there is a Mack 10, one who comes along and makes it all look so easy.
