MTV Classic was name of the Polish version of the television channel VH1. Because of the little brand awareness and possible pronunciation difficulties, for the first time worldwide the name MTV was used for the channel broadcasting past music videos and documentaries about music stars. It also aired old MTV shows like Beavis and Butt-head. The channel was owned by MTV Networks Polska, the Polish branch of the worldwide music network belonging to the Viacom group. MTV was created in 1977, when Warner-Amex Cable (a joint venture between Warner Communications and American Express) launched the first two-way interactive cable TV system, Qube, in Columbus, Ohio.
