Fictional character history

Infancy and health crisis

Lesley Lu was named "Lesley" after her maternal grandmother Dr. Lesley Webber and "Lu" after an alias her mother had assumed while she and Luke were on the run from Frank Smith. She has been called Lulu since birth. She was born to legendary supercouple Luke and Laura Spencer during a happy period in their marriage, when they had settled in Port Charles after more than a decade on the run with their first child, Lucky. However, Lulu's life was tumultuous from infancy. Luke's involvement with mobster Sonny Corinthos put his family in danger. When Laura was threatened by the mob, she was forced to flee town with newborn Lulu. Mother and daughter returned a few months later, but soon they were in danger again. Laura was singing baby Lulu a lullaby in their home when the house was riddled with bullets from a mob-related shooting; the two survived. Lulu was diagnosed with aplastic anemia when she was an infant. This condition forced her mother Laura to reveal the existence of another son, Nikolas Cassadine, born during her captivity with Stavros Cassadine. Nikolas saved little Lulu's life with a bone marrow transplant, but Luke and Laura's marriage was destroyed by the revelation of this secret. While happy that Lulu had been saved, Luke was deeply conflicted about the Cassadine family and Laura's involvement with them. He also freely acknowledged that he was not a good father. Lulu was primarily raised by her mother after the divorce, as Luke was rarely around, and Laura was sometimes in hiding in Switzerland or Beecher's Corner, North Carolina, if the family was in danger. Later, the family reconciled and Luke and Laura planned to remarry. Aplastic anemia is a condition where bone marrow does not produce sufficient new cells to replenish blood cells. ... Prior to the wedding, Rick Webber was found murdered. Laura, due to recollections of her past and the murder of Rick Webber, went catatonic and had to be institutionalized in a psychiatric hospital. Lulu was then raised by her maternal grandmother, Leslie.

Teenage years and pregnancy

Lulu, (sorased to seventeen), proved to be too much for her grandmother to handle, and Lesley forced Luke to take a more active role in his daughter's life. Lulu moved into the Quartermaine mansion with Luke and her new stepmother, Tracy Quartermaine. Luke has said that he loves Lulu, but he is also uneasy around her because she reminds him so much of her mother. In recent years, he has seemed pleased to discover some Spencer traits in his "larcenous little gum drop." Luke's frequent absences have left Lulu still seeking his attention. She has become closer to her brothers, Lucky and Nikolas, but she still often feels isolated and confused by her fractured family. She decided not to invite her family to her high school graduation for that very reason. This article does not cite any references or sources. ... The Quartermaines are a fictional family on the American soap opera General Hospital. ...

After graduation, Lulu continued to be troubled and rebellious. She hatched a scheme with Diego Alcazar to break up Dillon Quartermaine, her stepbrother, and his girlfriend (and later wife), Georgie Jones. Lulu lost her virginity to Dillon after lying to him about Georgie's relationship with Diego. When she eventually confessed the lie about Georgie and Diego, Dillon ended their friendship, and Lulu was hurt by the loss of her first lover. Soon afterwards, Lulu discovered she was pregnant. She quickly realized that she and Dillon had used a faulty ELQ condom. Lulu revealed the pregnancy to the Quartermaine family and to Georgie, who accompanied her to the doctor's office to confirm the pregnancy. Lulu had decided she didn't want the baby and considered an abortion, but Dillon objected and tried to take legal steps to prevent her from terminating her pregnancy. The Quartermaines wanted the baby, and Lulu had almost agreed to have it and sign over all parental rights to Dillon when Luke returned from one of his adventures. He gave Lulu the confidence she needed to make the choice she wanted and she chose to have the abortion. The Quartermaines were surprisingly supportive of Lulu following the abortion and didn't rebuke her for the choice she made. Laura's return and Metro Court Hotel hostage crisis

In November 2006, just in time for the twenty-fifth anniversary of her first wedding to Luke, Laura returned. With the help of Dr. Robin Scorpio and Dr. Patrick Drake, a medication was found that would bring Laura out of her catatonic state. Lulu was overjoyed to have her mother back in her life, but she was also nervous about Laura's potential reaction to the abortion. Laura eased back into life in Port Charles, even celebrating a renewal of her wedding vows with Luke. However, the drug that had brought Laura out of her catatonic state turned out to be a temporary fix, and she soon relapsed. Before she did, Lulu, flooded with guilt about her abortion and after her mother urged her to confide in her, tearfully told her mother she had an abortion because she didn't want to bring a baby into this world who wasn't loved or wanted, just as she felt she had never been loved or wanted. Laura comforted her daughter, telling her that she was wanted and loved, and that she supported Lulu's decision about the abortion She also told Lulu she thought she didn't murder Rick Webber. The information gave Lulu a mission and a purpose following her mother's return to Shadybrook. Dr. Robin Scorpio is a fictional character on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital. ... After Laura's relapse, Lulu found herself mixed up with the mob. Continuing conflicts with Lorenzo Alcazar's organization led Luke's old friend Sonny Corinthos and his partner, Jason Morgan, to call on the help of teenage hacker Damian Spinelli. Lulu inadvertently wound up involved in their machinations and became friends with Spinelli. When Mr. Craig and his men took several Port Charles residents hostage in the lobby of the Metro Court hotel, both Lulu and Spinelli were caught in the melee. Lulu was injured in the eventual explosion of the lobby, but she and Spinelli both survived. Lorenzo Alcazar is a fictional character on the soap opera General Hospital. ... Spinelli developed feelings for Lulu and they grew closer through certain events they experineced together. It was through Spinelli that she found out that Jason Morgan was Jake Spencer's real father and not her brother Lucky. Lulu hated Liz and Jason for their lies but have come to understand their reason's and have promised to keep it a secret, she is also very close to Liz again and closer to Jason. Lulu was torn for a while between Spinelli, Dillon, and one of Sonny's bodyguards, Milo Giambetti. By March 2007, Lulu was getting tired of juggling her three suitors and she resolved to decide who to date through a "trial" date. Her date with Dillon was interrupted by Spinelli who showed up in Jason's motorcycle and the dates of Spinelli and Milo never happened. Logan Hayes, an army buddy of Cooper Barrett's, came to town and pursued her. Lulu and Dillon discovered evidence to prove that Laura had not killed Rick Webber; the true culprit was Laura's ex-husband, Scott Baldwin. Logan, Cooper, and Maxie Jones found out about the evidence and plotted to blackmail Scott, making it look like Lulu was the blackmailer. In the end, Lulu discovered the ruse. Logan has defended Lulu from Scott Baldwin several times since his arrival in town. She has also saved him; she helped him to escape from a gunfight with Alcazar's men in late April. Rick Webber's True Murderer

Scott Baldwin sought custody of Laura and Lulu learned of Luke's rape of Laura when she heard Nikolas Cassadine's testimony during Laura's custody hearing. After the hearing, Luke finds Lulu and relates what happened. Hel also tells her that her mother had the strength to forgive him. Devastated, Lulu walks away ashamed of her father's violent act and swearing she will never fall in love believing that true love doesn't exist. She also learned that her sister-in-law Elizabeth Webber was raped when she was fifteen years old, which caused Lulu to look at Elizabeth with more respect for going through that at such a young age and surviving. Johnny and Lulu

Heartbroken from the news of her boyfriend Logan's infidelity Lulu went out walking and ended up hitching a ride with a perfect stranger. Upon her return to town her friends and family were dismayed by Lulu's poor choice, but even more so when they learned the perfect stranger turned out to be the son of the Anthony Zacharra, the mob threat currently trying to take over the Port Charles territory. Johnny and Lulu kept in contact via text message.

Johnny found Lulu out walking again one night and the two shared some good conversation but it wasn't too long before Johnny noticed some of his father's men had spotted them and whisked Lulu away to locations unknown. Johnny's blase attitude toward violence turned Lulu off and Johnny blew Lulu off when her questions got too personal, both frustrated they went their separate ways and Lulu was grabbed by the men looking for Johnny to be used as leverage.

The ploy worked and Johnny returned home where he was wanted in order to get Lulu released. After spending a few hours at his house, Lulu realized how bad Johnny's life was and tried to get him to open up about it but Johnny grew cold toward Lulu and successfully pushed her away.

Johnny's dad, the unstable Anthony Zacharra, learned of his interactiion with Lulu and wanted to put a stop to it. Anthony made his way to Port Charles intent on killing the young girl who had started to make a presence in his son's life. It was the night of the black and white ball hosted by Lulu's brother, Nikolas, that Anthony chose to exact his plan. Johnny broke out of his "handlers" control and headed to the black and white ball to stop his father from hurting Lulu or anyone else.

Johnny was successful in saving Lulu's life, but his father suffered serious injury at the hand of Jason Morgan and was rendered paralyzed and sent to a hospital for the criminally insane. His fathers absence put Johnny in control of the "family business", originally intent on leaving it all behind and finally starting fresh with a life he wanted Johnny was forced into running the business by the family lawyer, Trevor Lansing. Lulu had been excited for Johnny at the prospect of him being able to live on his own terms and didn't understand why he was now suddenly embracing the mob life he had resented for so many years.

Knowing she wouldn't be safe as a part of his life Johnny continued to push Lulu away, but she continued to push back. Lulu was determined to remain Johnny's friend. Trevor wasn't fond of this relationship developing between the two until he realized he could use it to his advantage, he ordered Lulu to be killed and hoped to set it up to look like it was at the hands of Jason Morgan, hoping this would usher Johnny into a mob war between the Zacharra and Corinthos organizations. The plan backfired, however, as Johnny was there to save Lulu from the receiving end of a bullet. Convinced Sonny wouldn't ever harm her Lulu convinced Johnny to go to Sonny and talk it out, when they arrived outside his house, however, they overheard Sonny ordering a hit on Johnny instead.

Lulu went to Carly on Johnny's behalf, asking her to talk Sonny out of killing him. Now more than ever Johnny was convinced that Lulu shouldn't be a part of his life, they met on the overlook and shared a kiss after which Johnny informed Lulu that while she made his life better he wasn't going to be selfish enough to risk her life. Lulu still wasn't convinced she couldn't have both safety and a friendship with Johnny and continued to push the issue.

Employees of the mysterious Moreau spotted the Johnny and Lulu together and assuming Lulu was Johnny's girlfriend, intended to use her as leverage against him if he didn't cooperate in a business deal. When Johnny continuously ignored Moreau's attempts at an arrangement, Lulu was grabbed and was to be held until the transaction was completed. Not one to follow the rules, Johnny teamed up with Logan and Spinelli to track Lulu down - the trio was successful and were able to locate the old monastery she was being held in but Lulu was already in motion to get herself out of the situation. Johnny found a back way in through the same tunnel system Lulu had come across but when the two finally crossed each other's path the reception Johnny got from Lulu was all but warm, while trying to push him out of the way, insisting she was not helpless, Lulu managed to knock Johnny over right into a rusty old sword - causing a severe cut in his leg. This led to the discovery of a hidden room within the tunnels, used to store smuggled goods hundreds of years ago. While looking around in the room, the door closed and locked behind them, leaving them stuck in the room. While trapped, and with the aid of the 200 year old rum used they used for a painkiller and heater, Johnny opened up to Lulu about his feelings for her, but told her the timing wasn't right -- but not before sharing a passionate kiss.

On Thursday, February 21, 2008, Johnny and Lulu openly acknowledged the strong connection they shared and made love at the Haunted Star, the legendary boat that held so much history for Lulu's parents...and now Johnny and Lulu as well. Following this, Johnny asked Lulu to meet him on a date, but before he could meet her, two of Sonny's henchman had grabbed him at Crimson Point, bringing him to an old mental institution in the mountains. Sonny was distressed from the disappearance of his son, Michael Corinthos III, and thought he knew the Zacharras were behind it. He eventually gets released, but not before Diego Alcazar (aka the Text Message Killer) had the cannery on the water front blown up. Michael Corinthos III (born Michael Morgan then known as Michael Alan Quartermaine) is a fictional character on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital. ... Information Occupation Mobster Address Port Charles, New York Portrayed by Ignacio Serricchio Diego Alcazar (born Diego Sanchez) was a fictional character on the popular ABC daytime drama, General Hospital. ...

Only days later, Lulu, shaken up after seeing Johnny have a gun to Sonny's head at General Hospital, breaks up with him. He lets her go without complaint, later telling his older sister, Claudia, that he always expected her to leave him. It doesn't make it any less painful when he sees her in the lobby at the hospital with a quickly recovering Logan Baldwin.

It doesn't take long for Johnny to jump back into her life when he becomes a partner of the Haunted Star, being the financial backer to reopen the casino. In early April, him and Lulu have another confrontation on the boat. They yell at each other before Lulu kisses him, but he pulls back, saying it isn't right. They are interrupted by Spinelli. Spinelli informs them Michael has been shot in the head down at the warehouse.

Kate Howard

Carly, out of jealousy towards her husband Jax and Kate Howard's friendship and business partnership, convinced Lulu to take a job as Kate's assistant. Lulu is uninterested until seeing that Maxie already has the job. Kate hires Lulu as her second assistant.
