Lindt & Sprüngli is a Switzerland-based company specializing in chocolate and candy production and marketing. It was founded in 1845 by David Sprüngli-Schwarz and his son, Rudolf Sprüngli- Ammann.

In 1999, the company bought the Ghirardelli chocolate brand and all of the assets of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company. Since then, Lindt & Sprüngli has expanded the once-regional Ghirardelli name into a nationwide chocolate brand in the U.S.
