The Savvis Center (formerly the Kiel Center) is an arena located in downtown St.
The Kiel Center opened in 1994 to replace the Kiel Auditorium, where the college basketballteam had played, which was torn down in December 1992.
The building is currently known as Savvis Center, after naming rights were sold in August 2000 to SAVVIS Communications Corporation, a global IP network service provider with dual headquarters in St. Louis and Herndon, Virginia.
