Some landspeeders also mounted weapons which were usually mounted either at the front of the craft or above and behind the pilot and/or passengers.
There were many types of landspeeders, from sporty civilian models designed for speed and flashy looks (often these were given stylish bodywork and/or paint jobs) to everyday utility craft that ranged from small speeder trucks capable of hauling small cargoes to massive freighter-like transports that could carry tremendous loads.
Landspeeders should not be confused with airspeeders, which were capable of achieving much higher altitudes.
Kwenn's Database - X-34 landspeeder (483 words)
Landspeeders were commonplace on many worlds, and while the basic components of each craft were the same, the design of each varied depending on the manufacturer.
The landspeeder's repulsorlifts were low-grade, and provided a flight ceiling of around one metre.
However, Lucas was required to obscure the wheels with foreground objects, mirrors to reflect the sand beneath, and even smeared gelatin globs on the camera lens to blur the wheels.
