Introduction to the UK

Kopparbergs cider was introduced in 2003 to the UK by B O Times1 Limited [1], after the owner visited Sweden whilst managing the now dissolved band Marlowe. Kopparbergs had previously attempted to launch in partnership with Bulmers but never succeeded in securing a contract. The Kopparbergs brand is now making headway in the UK. This article is about the English brand of cider. ...

Flavours available are Pear, Apple and Mixed Fruit. Mixed Fruit Cider is listed by UK customs as made-wine which is why the cider is very expensive. J.D. Wetherspoon's Ltd. sells each variety, including a non-alcoholic version, for £2.20 per 500ml (and is the only pub chain in the UK to have the contract to sell the mixed fruits flavour). The association with Wetherspoons has been a mixed blessing as every other pub chain has refused to stock the brand.
