Koltsovo International Airport

Koltsovo International Airport is located 16 km southeast from Yekaterinburg (56°45′00″ N 60°48′18″ E) and linked to the city by several bus routes. Koltsovo International Airport was opened in 1928 as a military airbase and became a civilian airport on July 10, 1943. In October 1993 in accuired the status of International. Today (2005) Koltsovo is the fifth largest airport in Russia, member of Airports Council International (ACI). 1,461,070 passengers and 20,958,800 tons of cargo travelled via Koltsovo in 2004. Airport has 60 parking lots and two runways: 2500 m asphalt and 3012 m concrete. It can accept most of currently operating passenger and cargo aircraft, including Airbus A320, Boeing 737, Ilyushin Il-96, Tupolev Tu-204. New international passenger terminal is currently under construction to open in 2007.
