Andrews is a midfielder who joined Milton Keynes Dons on 30 August 2006 on a free transfer from Hull City. Andrews spent just over a season at Hull after nine seasons at Wolves, during which he had spells on loan at Oxford United, Stoke City and Walsall. In the last match of the 2000-01 season for Wolves against Queens Park Rangers, he was made their youngest captain for over a hundred years. Despite this achievement, with Paul Ince in the Wolves squad first-team opportunities were limited, and Andrews decided not to accept the contract renewal on offer, instead moving to the Tigers for more regular first-team football.
