KBSI (FOX 23) is the FOX television affiliate in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, serving a large area consisting of much of Southeast Missouri, far southern Illinois, the Jackson Purchase of far western Kentucky, northern regions of West Tennessee, and parts of northeast Arkansas. It is owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, and is the sister station to WDKA in Paducah, Kentucky. KBSI has been serving the area since June 1, 1982. Its transmitter is located in Cape Girardeau. As of October 1st, WPSD produced a newscast for KBSI at 9 pm Monday-Sunday, to compete with the Heartland's CW news at Nine, which now focuses primarily on southeast Missouri.
