Joshua Treadwell McCown (born July 4, 1979 in Jacksonville, Texas) is an American football player in the National Football League at the quarterback position for the Oakland Raiders. The Arizona Cardinals selected McCown with the 16th pick of the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft out of Sam Houston State University, where he transferred for his senior year after playing his first three at SMU. He is the older brother of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Luke McCown and younger brother of former Texas A&M quarterback Randy McCown. As a senior, he was the East Texas Player of the Year, District 17-4A offensive player of the Year, and an all-state honorable mention. Career

McCown played as a quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals from 2002 until 2005. He was an occasional starter along with Shaun King, but McCown relinquished the starting role to Kurt Warner in 2005. After the Lions drafted Michigan State quarterback Drew Stanton in the 2007 NFL Draft, McCown was traded along with receiver Mike Williams to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick. McCown started for the Raiders on opening day against his former team, the Lions. He was impressive, going 30-for-40 with 313 yards and two touchdowns in a 36-21 loss to the Lions.
