After graduating from RADA in 1950, Joan Sims made her first appearance as Nurse Rigor Mortis in Doctor in the House In 1958 she began her recurring roles in 24 Carry On films, starting with Carry On Nurse and ending with Carry On Emmannuelle in 1978. After the end of the Carry On series, she had several roles in sitcoms such as On The Up and As Time Goes By.
