Jim Thorpe is an American golfer, currently playing on the over-50s Champions Tour. He was born in Roxboro, North Carolina on February 1, 1949. He was the ninth of the twelve children of a fairway superintendant. He attending Morgan State University before turning pro in 1972. He won three times on the PGA Tour in the mid 1980s. He has surpassed this at senior level by winning eleven times, including one senior major championship (the 2002 Tradition) and making the top ten of the Champions Tour's all time money list.
