Janu Tornell (May 9, 1965- in Las Vegas, Nevada) is an American reality show contestant and former Las Vegas showgirl of Cuban descent. Janu was the 13th person eliminated from Survivor: Palau. Tornell's Cuban-born mother, Maria, was a famous showgirl in Havana, but Tornell did not find her calling until many life experiences later and considers her mother one of her greatest inspirations for overcoming the hardships of life, including a successful battle with cancer.

Quirky Janu Tornell, the 39-year-old Las Vegas showgirl, laid down her torch on last night's episode claiming she had gotten what she needed out of the 'Survivor' experience...and apparently that had nothing to do with the million dollar check and the title of 'Sole Survivor'.
Janu, who had pathetically moped around in a hammock for the last nine episodes, became a whole different person once she was on her own and away from the group she didn't fit in with.
Janu: "I thought I was having an embolism." Gregg feels that because Janu couldn't keep the food down, she ruined the feast for the others.
