Isola 2000 - Isola Village (355 words)
Isola Village is a medieval village located at the convergence of the river Tinée and the stream of Castiglione, which comes down from the valley of Chastillon.
Isola is a marvellous place that has a surprise in store at each street corner: an old stone tower, oven, fountains and wash houses, roofs hesitating between slates and tiles.
With its Mediterranean sunshine and exceptional snow cover, the resort of Isola 2000 built in the early seventies has become a paradise for the "switched on" winter sports crowd: skiing, snow-boarding and free ride!
Isola 2000 Off Piste (Hors Piste) (966 words)
Isola, on the other hand, was a brash, new development that was supposed to bring jobs to the community and rival the mega resorts of the Savoie.
SAPSI also gave Isola a percentage of the lift passes, a stable for 80 cows, an extension for the town hall, a pharmacy and a tourist office.
Isola has a good snow record and is normally open from December until the end of April.
