Image notes
The geometric specifications for the union jack and the sizes and positioning of the stars are given in an attachment to Executive Order 10834 of 21 August 1959, printed in 3 CFR, 1959–1963 Comp., p. 368.
The current size of the image (version as of 04:42, 5 April 2007), 1235 × 650 pixels, represents an aspect ratio of 1.9:1.0. (These dimensions were chosen to allow as much as possible of the geometric manipulations to be performed using integer quantities without the need for scaling.)
Note: This only applies to works of the Federal Government and not to the work of any individual U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, county, municipality, or any other subdivision.

(del) (cur) 04:42, 5 April 2007 . . Technion . . 1235×650 (2,000 bytes) (Proposed simplified version written from scratch, derived directly from http://assembler.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode04/usc_sec_04_00000001----000-notes.html (should be geometrically identical))
(del) (rev) 19:01, 24 March 2006 . . Dbenbenn . . 1330×700 (2,213 bytes) (Stars are now exact. Based on an idea of User:Pumbaa80.)
(del) (rev) 23:08, 28 January 2006 . . Dbenbenn . . 1330×700 (2,315 bytes) (Previous version had a miscalculation--stars were shifted left by 0.02%, whoops! Also, this version now uses viewBox to have a reasonable default size.)
(del) (rev) 00:09, 29 November 2005 . . Dbenbenn . . 18525×9750 (2,856 bytes) (more precise version: stars are now accurate to 42 decimal places)
(del) (rev) 21:44, 3 October 2005 . . Dbenbenn . . 18525×9750 (2,511 bytes) (change red back to BF0A30, and completely rewrite SVG code, using Zscout's <use> tag idea, but with increased precision)
(del) (rev) 19:10, 3 October 2005 . . Zscout370 . . 247×130 (10,714 bytes) (Made it into a 130 pixel hoist, as per request on my talk page.)
(del) (rev) 19:02, 3 October 2005 . . Zscout370 . . 190×100 (9,382 bytes) (The cloning is done, but everyone is welcome to reduce the file size even more. :D)
(del) (rev) 10:06, 1 October 2005 . . Dbenbenn . . 570×300 (16,337 bytes) (change red back to BF0A30, according to cited references)
(del) (rev) 04:15, 27 September 2005 . . Zscout370 . . 570×300 (16,337 bytes) (Made the flag 300x570, fixed the colors. I also cut the file size down by over half. I am going to reduce it more once I have time.)
(del) (rev) 02:28, 11 September 2005 . . Dbenbenn . . 247×130 (37,051 bytes) (change red to BF0A30, blue to 002868, according to w:Image talk:Us flag large.png)
(del) (rev) 02:25, 11 September 2005 . . Dbenbenn . . 247×130 (37,051 bytes) (from http://openclipart.org/clipart/signs_and_symbols/flags/america/united_states.svg, by Daniel McRae, PD)
