Ian Evans (born 5 January1983) is a sunday league footballer and researcher in the field of hydrogen storage at the UNiversity of Birmingham. He currently plays for Birchmoor United in the Tamworth and District Sunday Football League and E.S. George Memorial Cup and is pushing for a call up to the England Semi Professional International side. His usual position is central midfielder. Evans made his Birchmoor United debut against Warton FC in August of 2005 and was a regular throughout the 2005/06 season. After a solid first season, in which Birchmoor achieved promotion to Division 1 and Evans was awarded the Managers Player of the Year award by Birchmoor manager Craig 'Sparky' Sparks, he has gone on to feature in every minute of Birchmoor's games in the 2006/07 season and has netted on 4 occassions. Birchmoor currently find themselves challenging for the Division One title and in the semi-finals of the E.S George Memorial Cup.
