It is obvious that the Christian church is to call upon the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Following is a list of every occurrence of the phrase "to call upon the name of the Lord," and its various forms (call on, call upon, called on, etc.), in the KJV Bible along with the New World Translation's rendering of the phrase in each verse cited.
Since we see that the phrase "call upon the name of the Lord" is used only of God in the Old Testament, it is fair to say that the phrase applies to Jesus in 1 Cor.
