Homer Glen and the Surrounding Homer Township have a combined population of 35,000. Homer Glen was incorporated in the Spring of 2001. The village boundries are 131st street to the North. 183rd Street to the South. Will-cook road to the east and gouger road to the west. The village shares its northern boundry with the Village of Lemont. It shares its eastern Boundry with the Village of Orland Park and Cook County. It Shares its Southern Boundry with the Village of New Lenox and its Western Boundry with the City of Lockport.
This is a residential and commercial suburb of Chicago in the in the rapidly growing county of Will. It is a middle to upper class village. The village is served by three post offices, Lemont, Lockport, and Orland Park. Police Services are supplied by the Will County Sheriff's Police Department. Fire Services are provide by Northwent Homer Fire Protection District and the Homer Township Fire Protection District.
The Mayor is Russ Petrizzo who took office in 2001. The village has six trustees, Brian Andrews Marcia De Vivo Christopher Locacius Mary Niemiec Margaret Sabo Dale Vogelsanger.
There are three school districts and one high school district serving the village. Homer Community School District 33-C is the elementary district serving most of the community. Lockport and Will county school districts serve the rest. Lockport Township High School District 205 is the public high school serving the village.
