What bothered me too is that the Xyrillians had no problem to adapt the device to the Klingon power grid, something that was always made a big problem in Voyager.
Her anxiety about and curiosity for the alien technology and her affection to Archer is just not sufficient to make a good story, and besides that her contribution to the plot is rather marginal.
Silik, however, apparently kills Daniels and manages to escape, leaving Archer with the question what he was really going to accomplish.
