The Times Mirror purchased the company in 1966, with Harry Abrams remaining at the helm.
With Abram's retirement in 1979, Paul Gottlieb (1935-2002) took over as publisher and editor-in-chief of the company, a position he held until his unexpected death in June of 2002.
