Encyclopedia > Gulf South

The Gulf South is a region of the United States that consists of Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, all of which border the Gulf of Mexico on the Gulf Coast of the United States. Some sources include Arkansas, which does not border the Gulf. This might be due to Texas and Florida's larger populations.
