Municipal Stadium - Greenville Braves (551 words)
As the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Braves I am surprised the team has managed to stay here as long as they have.
I also have to give credit to one of the Braves' top prospects in their farm system, shortstop Wilson Betemit, who took his position in the top of the first while doing a series of backflips, a la Ozzie Smith.
Essentially, the team is in dire need of a new stadium, or renovations to the current one, which was built in a span of only six months before the 1984 season, the Braves first in Greenville.
Braves Win Hit Parade, 6-5 (465 words)
Rome, GA - The Rome Braves and Greenville Bombers smashed a combined total of 25 hits, but it was the Braves who prevailed 6-5 Monday night in front of 2,609 fans at State Mutual Stadium.
The Braves would take the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth as a red hot Brian Jordan led of the inning with a single and advanced to third on a Jurich double.
Braves starter Luis Atilano pitched seven strong innings giving up four earned runs in route to his eighth win of the year (8-8).
