Green Esmeraude (romanized to gureenu esmeraudo, also known as Green Emerald or simply Esmeraude) is one the members of the Black Moon Clan, a group of antagonists from the Sailor Moon R Series. She is a very greedy, selfish, and vain woman. She tries to emanate a goddess-like appearance. She is quite tall, has brown eyes, long-flowing green hair with a rotated moon crescent on her forehead. She wears a black, turtleneck dress with three large emeralds on it along with dark green opera-length gloves and black, leather, knee-high stiletto boots. Story

Esmeraude was the successor to Rubeus, passing up the chance to save his life from an exploding spaceship, and laughing triumphantly that she would be taking his place. Esmeraude seemingly had it all, except for a charming prince. She was completely infatuated with Prince Demande. Unfortunately, Demande liked Sailor Moon, and tried to get her to like him back. Esmeraude was consumed by her jealousy and greed. She went to Wiseman with the desire to have Demande and ruin Sailor Moon. Wiseman presented her with a magical tiara that would purportedly make her the queen of Neo-Tokyo. She said there must be a catch, but she was so obsessed with having Demande, and so consumed by her greedy heart, that she did not care what price she had to pay. Crimson Rubeus (known simply as Rubeus in the English dub), is one the members of the Black Moon Family, a group of antagonists from the Sailor Moon R Series. ... Esmeraude clasped the tiara with her long-gloved hands. Instantly, the power flowed through her, magically transforming her into a 'queen'. Laughing with pure vanity, she smiled thinking Demande would be all hers. Then suddenly, Esmeraude became horrified; overwhelmed by the dark powers, she got turned into an evil black dragon. Immediately, she proceeded to attack the Crystal Palace. The Sailor Senshi had no choice but to face her, not knowing that the monster is really Esmeraude. The dragon attacked the senshi, but then, at the last moment, Sailor Moon fired her Cutie Moon Rod at the dragon, instantly defeating it. Esmeraude reappeared as the queen she most desperately wanted to be. She is momentarily surrounded by a pure, heavenly glow, but suddenly a dark, swirling void opened up underneath her. Esmeruade slipped into the dark vortex, reaching her gloved hand out trying to save herself. Her hair flowed around her like a large flower, and with her last breath, was able to whisper Demande's name.
