As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,368 people, 584 households, and 369 families residing in the town. The population density is 459.3/km² (1,192.1/mi²). There are 621 housing units at an average density of 208.5/km² (541.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.25% White, 0.37% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.29% from other races, and 0.88% from two or more races. 1.10% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
