Officially launched in February 2003, GOLTV was founded by two respected former professional football people who together also own a Montevideo, (Uruguay)-based broadcasting corporation called Tenfield which holds the commercial rights to the Primera División Uruguaya and internationally represents several television networks as well as 300 European and South American soccer stars.
