Fulton County is a county located in the state of Ohio. As of 2000, the population is 42,084. Its county seat is Wauseon6.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,055 km˛ (407 mi˛). 1,054 km˛ (407 mi˛) of it is land and 1 km˛ (1 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 0.13% water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 42,084 people, 15,480 households, and 11,687 families residing in the county. The population density is 40/km˛ (104/mi˛). There are 16,232 housing units at an average density of 15/km˛ (40/mi˛). The racial makeup of the county is 95.65% White, 0.24% Black or African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.42% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 2.31% from other races, and 1.08% from two or more races. 5.76% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 15,480 households out of which 37.10% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.20% are married couples living together, 8.20% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.50% are non-families. 21.10% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.40% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.69 and the average family size is 3.13.


In the county the population is spread out with 28.30% under the age of 18, 7.70% from 18 to 24, 28.70% from 25 to 44, 22.60% from 45 to 64, and 12.70% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 95.60 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.30 males.

The median income for a household in the county is $44,074, and the median income for a family is $50,952. Males have a median income of $36,180 versus $25,137 for females. The per capita income for the county is $18,999. 5.40% of the population and 4.00% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 6.10% of those under the age of 18 and 4.60% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
