Frank Finley Merriam (December 22, 1865April 25, 1955) was Governor of California from June 2, 1934 until January 2, 1939. A Republican, he defeated Democratic candidate Upton Sinclair in the 1934 election. He served prior to this as the Lieutenant Governors of California from 1931-1934.
