The magazine Fortune was founded by Time Magazine co-founder Henry Luce in 1930 at the outset of the Great Depression.
In its early years Fortune employed a number of eminent artists as contributors, including writers Archibald MacLeish (1892–1982) and James Agee (1909–1955) as well as photographer Walker Evans (1903–1975).
For many years Fortune was published as a monthly, but as of September 2005, it is published biweekly.

The Fortune 1000 security service model demands constant interaction because the services provided are an alternative to the services the customer is providing himself.
Most of the Fortune 1000 security directors and other executives say they would be more than open to a bundled service offering if (a very big "if") they were convinced there was a supplier capable of meeting their expectations at a better value than in-house.
