Production

As of October 2006, the film is currently being produced under the direction of Wes Anderson, known for co-writing and directing films such as Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. The film will be shot using stop motion photography, designed by Henry Selick. Selick, who is known for directing the stop motion films The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach (also a Roald Dahl adaptation), has previously worked with Wes Anderson on the film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, for which Selick used stop motion animation to bring fictional sea creatures to life. Recent reports however suggest that Selick has left the project to work on the Neil Gaiman story Coraline.[1] October 2006 is the tenth month of that year and has yet to occur. ...
