The club was formed in 1925. When the Dutch professional league was formed in 1954, FC Emmen decided to remain an amateur club. In 1985, FC Emmen finally joined the professional ranks. The amateur section of the club retained the name FC Emmen, but the professional section used the name BVO Emmen ( Betaald Voetbal Organisatie, professional football organisation). In 2005, the club decided to return to the name FC Emmen, for two reasons. Firstly, it was hoped that the new name would better reflect the club's history, and secondly because many misunderstandings had arisen, among people who had grown to believe that BVO was an abbreviation similar to for instance PSV, RBC or ADO. FC Wageningen (founded in 1911) won the Dutch cup in 1939 and 1948, joined the Dutch professional league when it was formed in 1954, and remained professional until the club went bankrupt in 1992.
HVC of Amersfoort was formed in 1905, joined the league in 1954, was renamed to SC Amersfoort in 1973 and went bankrupt in 1983.
Fortuna Vlaardingen (formed in 1904) joined the professional league in 1955, was renamed to FC Vlaardingen in 1974 and went bankrupt in 1981.

FC Zwolle was nothing like the great playing team they were last game, defenders were not able to get the ball away without problems, only few long passes arrived and the opportunities FC Zwolle did get were not finished right.
FC Zwolle tried to attack after that but some of the players had given already most of their power, and they didn't have enough left to make enough pressure.
FC Zwolle started this game as worse as last game against Cambuur, after just 3 minutes Alex Burns scored 0-1 for Heracles, And they got some more chances after that one, but also did Zwolle, and after 36 minutes it was Andre van Tuinen who made it 1-1.
