The Expediency Discernment Council of the System [1] (Persian: : مجمع تشخیص مصلحت نظام), is an administrative assembly appointed by the Supreme Leader [2] and was created upon the revision to the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Iran on 6 February 1988 [3]. Expediency Discernment Council - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (111 words)
The Expediency Discernment Council of the System (Persian: مجمع تشخیص مصلحت نظام), is an establishment in the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Iran.
Its purpose is to resolve differences or conflicts between the Majlis and the Council of Guardians, and also to serve as a consultative council to the Supreme Leader.
As of 2004, the council is headed by Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
