Elms College was founded in 1899 as Our Lady of the Elms as a high school academy for girls. By 1908 the academy expanded to also offer two-year degrees for teachers as the Normal School of Our Lady of the Elms. The Colleges will pay a one-time initial enrollment fee after they sign the membership agreements, which fee is in exchange for access to the Program and the model documents, for initial and ongoing participant educational services, and for such other administrative services as the Consortium is obligated to provide.
