Eliot Jardines is the first Assistant Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Open Source (ADDNI/OS). Assuming his position on 5 December 2005, he is responsible for the oversight of the Open Source Center (OSC) at the Central Intelligence Agency, and a number of other capabilities across the community that deal with open source information collection and exploitation. The most notable initiative under his oversight at this time is the Large Scale Internet Exploitation (LSIE) project of the OSC, which incorporates the Foreign Broadcast Information Service and is seeking to improve the delivery of relevant open source information to the all-source analysts of the U.S. Intelligence Community. Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) is an open source intelligence component of the CIAs Directorate of Science and Technology that monitors, translates, and disseminates within the US Government openly available news and information from non-US media sources. ...
