In most of Europe the word Summer is added to the name of each European time zone during this period: thus, in the UTC+1 time zone, Central European Time becomes Central European Summer Time (UTC+2).
In the United Kingdom standard time is (GMT/UTC) and the clocks are moved forward one hour for summer.
But in Republic of Ireland (according to the Standard Time Act 1968) standard time is CET (UTC+1) and the clocks are turned back for winter time.
