The Jebel Akhdar, Jabal Akhdar or Djebel Akhdar (Arabic: الجبل الأخضر meaning The Green Mountain) is a mountain range in Oman, extending about 300 km northwest to southeast, between 50-100 km inland from the Gulf of Oman coast.
The Jebel Akhdar was the scene for intense conflict between Omani forces loyal to the Sultan of Oman (aided by British solders including the Special Air Service) and Saudi Arabian backed rebel Omani forces between 1957 and 1959.
This conflict is known as the Jebel Akhdar war.

The ancient Greek colony of Cyrene was located in a lush valley in the Jebel Akhdar.
