The son of former Watford manager Ray. Dean made his Wimbledon first team debut towards the end of the 2002/03 season as a substitute in the 4-2 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday after coming through the Youth ranks, and was voted Player of the Year just over one year later after a succession of impressive performances saw him stake his claim as the first choice left back.
Spent a chunk of 2004/2005 season playing on the left side of midfield and was a key component in ensuring the Dons went 11 games unbeaten in the run-in to the end of the season. Known for his fiery temper to match his flame red hair, he has been rumoured to have been watched by scouts from the likes of Cardiff, Southampton and Norwich. Strong and controlled, and still just 21 years of age, he could have a very successful career ahead of him. A player who can take over the captaincy whenever it is required of him, he is one of the mainstays of the Dons starting XI and isn’t afraid to get forward so can chip in with the odd goal too. Fierce in the tackle, strong in the air, and a player who always gives 100%.
