David DePatie Biography (432 words)
David DePatie began his cartoon coureer in early 1960s when Warner Bros. closed down it's cartoon studio and teamed up with Friz Freleng.
In 1968, they created Roland and Rattfink for theaters, then The Ant and the Aardvark, then more theatrical series followed: Tijuana Toads (was renamed Texas Toads for television, probably to avoid Mexican stereotypes), The Blue Racer, The Dogfather, and their last theatrical series, Hoot Kloot.
The animated titles were so popular that DePatie and Freleng immediately set to work on a series of animated shorts, in the vein of Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse.
