Daniel D. Sikes, Jr. (December 7, 1929 – December 20, 1987) was an American golfer. He was born in Wildwood, Florida. Although he had a law degree from the University of Florida and was known as the "golfing lawyer", he never actually practiced law. He won the 1958 U.S. Amateur Public Links championship while in law school. He turned pro in 1960 and won six times on the PGA Tour. He played on the 1969 Ryder Cup team. He also won three times on the Senior PGA Tour. He died in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 58. Sikes said circuit judges must serve throughout the circuit on cases that include divorce, debt, child custody, child support, alimony, property, child abuse, abuse of the elderly, abuse of the disabled, domestic violence, probate, corporate litigation, contract litigation, personal injury, medical malpractice, real property litigation, government law, guardianship, administrative law and labor law.
Sikes said, if he is elected, he will always remember the hours he spent talking with mothers who were crying over children who had run afoul of the law.
