Dale Rolfe was a professional hockey player.


Dale Rolfe was born in Timmins, Ontario on April 30, 1940. He spent his junior career with the Barrie Flyers during the 1956-57 to 1959-60 seasons. During the 1959-60 season, Rolfe was able to play 3 games with the Boston Bruins, as well as 2 games with the Kingston Frontenac (EPHL). Rolfe then spent the 1960-61 and 1961-62 season with the Portland Buckeroos (WHA). Rolfe then moved to the AHL where he spent the next season (1962-63) with the Hershey Bears and the following 4 seasons with the Springfield Indians (1963-64 to 1966-67). In 1967-68, he returned to the NHL, playing for the Los Angeles Kings. He played for the Kings until he was traded to the Detroit Red Wings on February 20, 1970. Rolfe stayed in Detroit for the remainder of the 1969-70 season and the majority of the 1970-71 season. He was then traded to the New York Rangers where he spent the rest of his professional career (1970-71 to 1974-75). The American Hockey League (AHL) is regarded as the top professional hockey league in North America outside the National Hockey League (NHL) for which it serves as the primary developmental circuit. ... The Hershey Bears are a professional ice hockey team playing in the American Hockey League of which the Bears are also the senior member club. ... Rolfe played a total of 509 NHL regular season games with 25 goals, 125 assists and 556 penalty minutes.
