Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors Football Club(Supporters prefer to call as Jeonbuk F.C.-전북축구클럽)is a Korean Football Club based in Jeonju, Jeonbuk. The club was formed as Wansan Puma F.C. on September, 1991. However, Wansan F.C. went into bankruptcy before joining Korean Football League. The club was taken over by Bobae Ltd. that is a local alcohol manufactures. After changing the name as Jeonbuk Buffalo F.C., the club joined Korean Football League in 1994 and it was getting worse. Finally, Jeonbuk Buffalo was entrusted to KPFL(The Korean Professional Football League) and Hyundai Motors took over Jeonbuk F.C. in 1994.


Jeonbuk lifted the Korean FA Cup in 2000 and became the first side to win the trophy a second time with their 2003 victory. They would win the trophy again in 2005.
