Biography

Baby Trunks
Baby Trunks

Chibi Trunks makes an appearance in the Androids Saga of Dragon Ball Z as a newborn baby of Bulma and Vegeta. He has purple hair like his grandfather Dr. Briefs, but his facial features such as the eyebrowns touching his eyes like Vegeta, stance and strong Saiyan pride clearly show that he is a descendant of the Saiyan royal line. His role becomes much larger by the Buu Saga, at which point Trunks is 8 years old and fantastically strong for his age. As a child he was trained by vegeta. He goes Super Saiyan while training with Vegeta in the gravity room, an event that comes as a shock to Vegeta considering his young age (this is not, however, the first time he went Super Saiyan; the circumstances surrounding his initial transformation are unknown.) Being the son of Vegeta, the prince of the Saiyan race, Trunks was destined for greatness with a seemingly natural ability to transform into Super Saiyan. Filled with pride, Trunks is adventurous and constantly looks for stronger opponents to challenge, much like his father. In the Fusion Saga (a subset of the Buu saga), he and his best friend Goten fight Buu, both separately and by joining together into the temporarily-fused being Gotenks. In this fused form Trunks can be seen as the ultimate fighter with a power level that even exceeds his father, Vegeta. Trunks can be a bit of a spoiled brat at times, but this is probably only due to the fact that he has spent a great deal of time around Vegeta, and has unconsiously adopted his father's cocky attitude. He later grows up in Dragon Ball GT, becomes president of the Capsule Corp (often seen trying to escape from the drudgery of the office only to be dragged back by Vegeta), and helps Goku and Pan try to find the Black Star Dragonballs before finally being pushed off as a background character for the remainder of the series. Bebi possesses him early on and seems to be driven out by Trunks' power but in fact Bebi only wanted to place an egg in him, which is activated on Earth. As a servant of Bebi, Trunks helps power him up to defeat Goku on Earth. Later, on the reconstituted Planet Plant, he, Goten, and Gohan try to save their new lord from Uub, who seems to overpower him. Bebi was just playing with Uub, and blasts his slaves into unconsciousness for their interference. Trunks is the first to be cured by the Sacred Water. Power

Trunks achieves the level of Super Saiyan at a very young age though it appears that he never perfected the form. At the end of Dragonball Z, Trunks stops training and doesn't increase his strength any further. In Dragonball GT he still isn't shown training and instead has become the president of Capsule Corp. There is a possiblity that Trunks' power is actually a lot greater than Goten's power. Trunks was trained by Vegeta for many years within the gravity chamber, while Goten was trained in secret by ChiChi and by Gohan for only a short time.
