The Central League (セントラル・リーグ Sentoraru Riigu) is one of Japan's two major professional baseball leagues (the other is the Pacific League). In Japanese, it is often referred to as the "Se League."


The league was founded in 1949 with eight teams. Today it consists of:

Central committed no turnovers, scored eight of its 10 points in overtime on free throws and defeated Canton 67-60 in the Western Lakes Association championship game at Central.
Central (15-5) was 23-of-26 from the line and committed just 10 turnovers, including two in the fourth quarter when the Vikings made their run.
But Central put the game away at the line as Aaron Hakola made both of his attempts with 1:16 left and David Jackson (12 points) was 6-for-6 in the final 46 seconds.
