Carrot River Valley is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. It is located in the east central area of Saskatchewan. Carrot River Valley is in the midst of the parkland where farm and forest meet - beautiful and diversified. The main industries centre around agriculture, forestry and tourism. Agriculture includes canola, pulse crops, honey, grain, alfalfa seed, alfalfa dehy plants, cattle and hog production, market gardening, U-Pick berry farms, as well as many spin-off industries and businesses. Nipawin (4,275) is home to the canola oil company CanAmera, as well as Newfield Seeds - worldwide grass exporters. Located on the Saskatchewan River, tourism largely contributes to Nipawin's economy. Tobin Lake, formed by the E.B. Campbell Dam, holds the Saskatchewan record for walleye at 18.06 lbs., while Evergreen Centre golf course rated second in Saskatchewan's and Canada's top 100 courses. Tisdale (3,063) is known as "The Land of Rape Honey" and is the main grain handling centre of the East Central area with four inland terminals and major seed and pea dealers. Hudson Bay (1,783) is "Moose Capital of the World" and home to Weyerhaeuser plywood mill, forestlands office and oriented strand board plants. Tourism in Hudson Bay includes big game hunting and outfitting as well as snowmobile trails. Carrot River (1,017), located near Pasquia Park, is a paleontologist's haven since the discovery of a 92-million-year-old crocodile fossil.
