Kung has lived in the United States for some time. She was a three-time American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) All-American and was named 1999 AJGA Player of the Year. She won the 2001 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. While at the University of Southern California, Kung was a two-time NCAA All-American and won the 2000 Pac-10 Championship. The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) has been running elite tournaments for junior golfers of both sexes in the United States since 1978 and as of 2005 it stages 75 a season. ... Kung turned professional in August 2001. She initially played on the second tier Futures Tour, and she won the SBC Futures Tour Championship that year. She tied for 15th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to win a place on the main tour for 2002. She had a solid rookie season, finishing 36th on the money list. In 2003 she won her first three LPGA events, and came sixth on the money list. After fading a little in 2004 she regained her form in the first half of 2005, though she is yet to add to her three LPGA victories. The FUTURES Tour is the second tier womens professional golf tour in the United States. ...
