Burke is a ghost town in the Shoshone County. It has a year round population of an estimated 38 people. The town was once a thriving silver and lead town with a population of almost 2,500. It was situated in a canyon only about 300 feet wide. Located on Burke-Canyon Creek Road in the Northern most part of the Shoshone County. Burke has no "real" mayor but the community does do a few activities each year, the County easter hunt for 2007 is scheduled to occur in Burke along side the mountain on the west side of the Road. Also Jaden Rosencrans along with the community is preparing for a $200,000 community-county project to re-build the Hotel which in 1890 had a railroad, river, and road running through the lobby.
