Arthur "Bud" Collins (b. June 17, 1929 in Lima, Ohio) is an American journalist. A journalist is a person who practices journalism, the gathering and dissemination of information about current events, trends, issues and people. ...


After his U.S. Army service, Collins decided to attend Boston University graduate school; and later, joined the Boston Herald as a sportswriter. In 1963, he moved to the "Boston Globe" and also began doing tennis commentary for Boston PBS outlet, WGBH. From 1968-72, worked for CBS' coverage of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. In 1972, he joined NBC as a tennis broadcaster, a post which he presently holds. The Army is the branch of the United States armed forces which has primary responsibility for land-based military operations. ... Boston University is a non-sectarian private university located in Boston, Massachusetts. ...
