DVD Review: Bongwater (595 words)
"Bongwater" is one of those films that probably didn't seem sellable a few years ago, but now that the stars involved have gone on to bigger and better things, it gets a minimal release in an attempt to gain interest from home vid audiences.
Why the film is called "Bongwater" in the first place is beyond me. Although pot does play a role in the picture, it's more of a twenty-something comedy/drama instead of a "Half Baked" laugh-fest.
Final Thoughts: "Bongwater" was amusing to watch in terms of seeing all of these performers in early roles, but the story didn't really go anywhere or did the characters provide much interest.

Three recent movies, Killer Bud, Bongwater and Cash Crop all attempt to cash in on the changing acceptance and perhaps, if your Libertarian Party candidates are to be believed, the eventual acceptance of pot as a legally controlled substance along with alcohol and tobacco.
Bongwater is the best of these three, and it?s based on a book, which means that it has more of a plot than the usual stoner fare.
Bongwater is funny and likable, and while it won?t change the world of film, it?s an enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half.
