Bill Szymczyk (pronounced 'Sim-zik') born in Muskegon, Michigan became a musical producer and technical engineer of rock working with, among others, The Eagles in the 1970s. He produced The Who's 1981 album Face Dances, which included the hit single "You Better You Bet". He also produced B.B. King, Dishwalla, Sonic the Hedgehog, Joe Walsh, Wishbone Ash, Michael Stanley, Grant Sparks, The James Gang, Whitney Houston, Tom Kimmel, and many many more. He now lives in Little Switzerland, North Carolina with his wife, Lisi Szymczyk and their two sons, Michael, and Daniel. Muskegon is a city located in Muskegon County, Michigan. ... Szymczyk seems to have slid easily into each of the many serendipitous scenarios that fate had in store for him, and it is perhaps that ability to accept things as they are that allowed him to benefit from each new turn of events, and for the artists he worked with to reap similar advantages.
Bill Szymczyk says he and Henley invested a lot of time experimenting with microphone choices and placements, but that most of the time they reverted to fairly common configurations.
