The Basque Country may refer to one of three areas inhabited by Basque people:

  • The Basque Country (ethnic territory) (Euskal Herria), the overall area inhabited by Basques, which Basque nationalists seek independence for.
  • The Basque Country (autonomous community) (PaĆ­s Vasco or Euskadi), the southwestern part of Euskal Herria, an autonomous community of Spain.
  • The Northern Basque Country (Iparralde or Pays Basque), the northern part of Euskal Herria, in France.
